Shields + Associates is made up of ARIDO Registered and intern designers with a BCIN registration required for obtaining building permits. We are also IDC Members and carry full WSIB and insurance. We are located in downtown Toronto, recently having moved from our fabulous old factory warehouse location of 276 Carlaw Avenue to a young new Art & Technology Hub at 130 Queens Quay East.
Incorporated in 1996, Shields + Associates has completed condominium and commercial high-rise renovations including corridors, lobbies, security desks, entrance systems, fitness facilities, pools, change rooms, party rooms and other amenities areas. We have prepared designs and specifications, budgets, permit applications, construction drawings and project coordination to final completion. On behalf of Boards we often present our design work at resident meetings and oversee the construction coordination process after awarding bids which include paperwork such as WSIB, Insurance, Notice of Project, Project Schedules, Certificates for Payment, and final Deficiency Lists. Our services also include procurement of signage, furniture, art & accessories. We can also complete site & furniture inventories, reconfigurations, move coordination, purchasing assistance and final installation supervision.
Our high rise common area sector is geared to property managers of condominiums, rental buildings, commercial office properties and hotels and our work encompasses lobbies, fitness facilities, amenities areas, and corridors. We have also completed work in private clubs, the always glamorous washrooms, and parking levels for commercial high rise buildings.
For commercial office tenants, landlords, and leasing agents we provide turnkey solutions from feasibility space planning to permit and construction drawings. We provide full project management including move coordination and art/accessories installation for office tenants.
